Where are the best vacation places in Colorado?

Our family is taking a vacation to Colorado in May. It my dad and mom and me and my five siblings (ages 12-24). Most of us love outdoors and nature. I was wondering what are the best things to do in Colorado. I've heard about whitewater rafting, estes park, garden of the gods, ect. I also think it would be fun to climb a mountain. Any suggestions?

Glenwood springs is really nice, but it is a bit of a drive. It has the hot springs, and right outside of town you can hike to hanging lake. Winter park is nice as well, but not sure if anything will be open in may. Mesa Verde you can take short or long tours of the anasazi ruins, four corners and a rattlesnake park are in the area as well.

If you're in Estes, you could climb Long's Peak...it's a really difficult climb, so, if you aren't prepared, don't plan to go to the top. But if you do, start at dawn. Thunderstorms can roll in and become extremely dangerous after noon. If you're not off the peak by then, it's dangerous.



For a tamer hike, find a trail in the park. My fave is Bear Lake. Lily pad lake is nice, too.



There's some nice hikes right (much lower) around Boulder, too. In fact, hiking abounds.
