To the Residents of Denver?

I live in Chicago and am meeting my girlfriend in La Junta, CO which is almost 3 hours from Denver. I am flying to denver and i need transportation to la junta. So is paying a guy 200 dollars sound reasonable or is there a taxi company that you can make a reservation that you pay 50 dollars for. Or is there anything you can recommend?

$200 seems high. Just rent a car. Use one of those travel sites like Travelocity or Orbitz. There are almost always good deals and it will likely cost much less than $200. Additionally, if you only need to go one way, many rental car companies will let you rent the car at the Denver airport and drop it off in La Junta.

There definetly is bus service. There may also be shuttle services from the airport in Denver to La Junta. Ask at the airport. If you look at Greyhound site, you see that you have o buy a ticket to Pueblo, then to Lamar. I KNOW that bus from Pueblo to Lamar goes right through La Junta...don't know why they don't list La Junta separately. It might be best for you to CALL Greyhound about a ticket to Pueblo, then on to La Junta. This may sound nutty, but there may very well be people on your flight from La Junta or very near...oughtta ask on the flight if you can catch a ride. That guy that wants $200.00 to drive you there is pretty nervy! I used to live in La junta... made it to the airport, on the back roads in a bit over an hour. Good Luck.

There are no taxi services that can get to to La Junta for $50.00. I'm not sure about Greyhound. I would try that before spending $200.00.

If there is no bus service and you don't want to rent a car then I guess it's pay the $200.00.
