I was thinking of getting a nice road bike and a big dog and moving to colorado. What's rent like up there? Are Denver and Boulder expensive places to live?

Denver (metro) is still reasonable, but Boulder is very, very expensive to rent. Housing is limited in the city of Boulder so rents are expensive. Some of the suburban areas of Denver are good rental options like Aurora. Get a Real job or you'd be better off in Montana or Wyoming...

I would look at Longmont. It is not the nicest place, but an easy commute to either Denver OR Boulder. There are also a lot of other small towns coming up such as Frederick and Firestone. Another idea: You might be able to find a sublet in either Denver or Boulder near one of the universities/colleges. A lot of times students sublet their places when they go home for the summer. Good luck!

Boulder is expensive, moreso if you have a big dog!
There are other towns in Boulder County that are not bad, though. Longmont and Lyons are more like a small town,
Louisville and Niwot are suburbia.
